Shortly after the manifestation of the COVID-19 Global Pandemic last winter, an informal group of community leaders began daily virtual meetings to assess the impact of the pandemic on the Greater Sylacauga Community.

The group looked at the emerging needs across the varied segments of the community to include public health, education and after school learning, business and commerce, workforce impacts and at-risk community members. Identifying community needs and challenges, the group set out to find solutions or create opportunity to promote our community resilience.
Over the course of several months, the informal information sharing matured and the Sylacauga Alliance for Family Enhancement and the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce formed an alliance to provide executive leadership and establishment of the GSRN.
